Brief History:
The Association of Building Contractors of Larnaca was registered pursuant to the provisions of the Trade Unions Act on 1 December 1984.
The Association had its founding General Assembly on 30/7/1984 with the following founding members:
Kyriakos Mosfiliotis Andreas Skouris, Christakis Elia, Andreas Eleftheriou, Georgios Markou, Costas Botsaris, Loizos Eleftheriou Christou, Nikos Voniatis, Antonis Paschalis, Nikos Orthodoxou, Dimitris H”Mattheou, Pavlos Stavrou, Periklis Andreou, Yannis Iakovou Zacharias, Grigoris Kondos, Andreas Papanikolaou, Kostakis Christofi, Mattheos Stylianou, Georgios Theophanous, Theodoulos Kappellos, Eleftherios Anastasi Panteli, Spyros Charalambous, Frixos Louka, Loukas Skouris, Philippos Christodoulou, Georgios Theophanous.
The first Board consisted of:

The Association is based in Larnaca and one of the founding members of the Federation of Associations of Building Contractors Cyprus. It is the only Association of Building Contractors in the district. It also hosts the Building Contractors Association of Famagusta after the Turkish invasion.
Its first premises were on Gregory Afxentiou Avenue in the "GARDENS" building, Shop 8 were it was housed since its foundation in 1984. In 1995, it bought a privately owned premises at Griva Digenis Avenue 45 and Constantinou Paleologou , in the "Constantine Tower" building on the 1st floor, Flat 23, where it resides till present.
Structure:
The Governing Council of the League of Larnaca is elected every three years. The present Board consists of the following members:

So far the Association has 148 registered members. Membership is open to contractors holding a current building contractor and / or engineering annual license, according to the Control of Building Contractors and Construction Engineering Law.
The Association was founded to help the contractors of Larnaca become organized, minimize unfair competition, eliminate monopolies and generally to act in the interest of the contractor.
The main objectives of the Association are:
• Improving the professional standards of members and the legal guarantee of the contractors profession
• Developing a spirit of solidarity and cooperation
• The professional, social, cultural and educational advancement of members through holding seminars, conferences and similar events
• Cooperation with all Provincial Contractors Associations in order to defend, safeguard and protect common interests
Activities:
The Association provides its members useful advice and support, including:
• Contracts of Joint Committee on Construction Contracts Cyprus (MEDSK)
• Calculation of indexation increases in labor and materials
• Information on the provisions of collective agreements with employees and trade unions
• Informational letters on everything that happens in the Building Industry
• Consultative solutions to any disputes between members and employers and between members and the supervising engineers
The Association of Larnaca organizes an annual ball in order to achieve the acquaintance between our members, entertainment and financial support of the Association.
The Association of Larnaca actively participates in the Central Council of the Federation of Associations of Building Contractors Cyprus (O.S.E.O.K.), with the representation of Mr. Stelios Kounnis and Mr. Nikos Kappelos. It also participates in island-wide conferences and Pan Cyprian conferences of O.S.E.O.K. with a 10-member delegation, elected every three years, consisting of the 7 Board members and 3 additional members of the Association.
Association Mr. Christos Kostis represents the Federation of Associations of Building Contractors Cyprus (OSEOK) on the Technical Committee CYS TC 63 on Natural Stone ay the Cyprus Organization for Standardization.
Members of the Board Messrs Artemis Chrysostom and Nikos Kappelos represent the Association in our Joint Apprenticeship Committee since 25/01/06.
