Brief History:
The Association was founded in 1982 and its original name was Employer's Association of Building Contractors of Famagusta and Cyprus. The General Assembly of 19 May 2006 by secret ballot had the name changed to Building Contractors Association of Famagusta and approved by the Registrar of Trade Unions on July 25, 2006. It is the only refugee Association, a member of OSEOK.
The key activities of the Association began in 1948 when after an internal crisis in the Association found some forward-looking developers who not only kept the Association alive, but gave prestige and dynamism, managing to incorporate into itself all professional contractors.

The key activities of the Association began in 1948 when after an internal crisis in the Association found some forward-looking developers who not only kept the Association alive, but gave prestige and dynamism, managing to incorporate into itself all professional contractors.
Countless problems were resolved through the Association and the numerous achievements obtained, often with struggle and in adverse conditions.
The Associations’ history is divided into two periods. The first begins in 1948 and ends at 1974. In this period the Associations’ activities were not confined to matters related to the profession but also in other areas such as training of members, and development of relations and cooperation with other collegial Associations as was then the Building Contractors Association of Cyprus based in Nicosia.
The second period starts after the tragic events of 1974 and finds the Association as a refugee in a gigantic effort of reconnecting and reactivating its members.
The Association is reborn (and here we must stress that this was greatly dew to the help of the late George Sylikiotis founding member and secretary of the Association until 1990) and by representing the vast majority of displaced contractors, contributes to restoring the refugee contractors good name by guaranteeing new projects.
Never have the Association and its members forgotten their enslaved land.
The Interim head office is located in Larnaca at Kalograion Str. No. 6, KYPA Building.
