Grant Plan for the Upgrade of equipment in Construction Business
The Ministry of Labor and Social Security through the Center for Productivity and Labor Inspection Department, in cooperation with the Council for the Registration and Control of Contractors and the Scientific and Technical Chamber of Cyprus, promotes the above plan.
Purpose
The Plan aims to protect workers from losing value, in the construction sector and falls under the broader objective of improving working conditions for about 44,000 workers in this sector and the reduction of accidents, occupational diseases and dangerous occurrences that occur in places where out construction and engineering projects.
The plan includes a subsidy for the purchase of equipment carried in height, and based on Regulation (EC) No 1998/2006 on “de minimis” aid.
Fields and Application Period
The area to which the project applies is the construction sector and includes all the small contractors who are registered under the Council for Registration and Control of contractors. The Plan will be applied in 2008. The dates for applications will be finalized through public announcements / invitations to tender.
Grant Amount
The project budget amounts to a total of € 1.708.601,40 or otherwise £ 1.000.000 for 2008.
The recipients will receive a grant rate of 30% of investment costs (excluding VAT), with maximum grant € 17.086,01 / £ 10.000 for the purchase of new (never used) equipment. The total sponsorship calculated cumulatively, under this Plan and the 2006 – 2007 Plan may not exceed the above maximum limit for each beneficiary.
